We are The Only Animal, a fourteen year-old company, that creates work that is deeply engaged with place. Known for our immersive sited approach that springs off from the elements and the natural world, we are in the midst of explosive growth and there is much work to be done! Next season includes development of our Museum of Rain, a theatrical deluge set in a large-scale rain installation, a theatre of air, prototyping our human-scale board game about disasters, and a touring piece with typewriters that aims to change the world in 75 words a minute among other projects. Location: flexible, although our office is located on the unceded ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, səl̓ílwətaʔɬ and shíshálh First Nations.
Salary: part time, over one year, flexible start in late autumn or early winter of 2019, $20/hr

Producing & Organizational opportunities include: Associate Producing, Grant writing, Marketing and Communications, Social Media, Assist with Company Administration, Board Development, etc
Artistic opportunities may include Acting, Design, Choreography, Creation, or Asst. Director roles. They could include opportunities in Community-Engaged work, or in our Educational Program.
Additional opportunities: based on interest of the applicant, we are particularly experienced in mentoring artists considering starting their own companies, or looking to build their emerging companies.
This position can be personalized to flexible hours that work for your schedule, can include blackout periods for personal projects, and otherwise can be shaped to support you in what you need to support your emerging career in theatre.
